Apple's position in the smartphone market keeps getting stronger. The brand has developed into a particularly dominant force in the United States. According to Apple the iPhone is the most popular smartphone in the world, with a 23.4% market share.

The iPhone 14 was announced by Apple at a launch event in the US, featuring emergency satellite connectivity and car crash detection technologies. According to BBC, an audience attended in person for the first time since the pandemic, as the firm unveiled four variations of the new handset at its Cupertino headquarters. The next-generation iPhone, Watch, and AirPod products were the main emphasis of the event. It also displayed the Watch Ultra, a brand-new wearable for extreme sports.

A few of the new features of Apple Watch Series 8 includes Car crash detection, temperature sensors to track ovulation cycles, and a new low-power mode. According to Apple, the information on its devices would be encrypted and only accessible with a passcode or biometrics.

Apple suggested that a new automatic retrospective ovulation notice could be helpful for infertile couples. If turned on, the new watch can track body temperature every five seconds during the night and identify minute variations that may indicate ovulation.

In the US, the Apple Watch Series 8 starts at $399, while it costs £419 in the UK.

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the two sizes that the business is introducing. The newest phones can make an emergency satellite call for assistance. The phone will show the location of passing satellites in the overhead and provide instructions on how to aim the device correctly. Ben Wood, principal analyst at CCS Insight said, that the investment to acquire satellite capacity should not be underestimated.

The technological giant unveiled a new 12-megapixel camera that can capture images of moving objects and boasts a 49% improvement in low-light photography. Prices for the iPhone 14 start at $799 (US) and £849 (UK).

iPhone 14 Pro

The top of the screen, which is now a pill-shaped cut-out, is the biggest change in the design of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The black notch, which many iPhone users disliked, has been replaced with a feature dubbed the Dynamic Island, which can change shape based on the alerts that are available.

The ability for the handset to always be on is the other significant difference. The screen dims and the refresh rate is slowed down when the phone is not in use. The phone is available in deep purple, black, silver, and gold colors and the cost of the iPhone 14 Pro is $999 (US) and £1099 (UK).
