At this year’s Watches and Wonders trade show in Geneva, time is not just measured — it's celebrated. As luxury watchmakers from across the globe gather under the Palexpo convention center’s vast roof, anniversaries take center stage. Vacheron Constantin, one of Switzerland’s oldest horology houses, is marking its 270th year with a record-breaking wristwatch: the Solaria, featuring an astonishing 41 complications, all packed into a sleek 45mm white gold case.
Zenith commemorates its 150th anniversary by reviving a chronometry classic, while Hublot celebrates 20 years of its iconic Big Bang chronograph with a bold, vibrant reinterpretation. But it’s not just about nostalgia — these brands are showcasing their resilience, too. Anti-magnetism, shock-proofing, and extended warranties are key themes, as durability becomes a top priority amid a luxury market slowdown. Swiss watch exports dipped 2.8% in 2024, prompting fierce competition, especially in the entry and mid-range tiers.
With over 800,000 square feet of exhibition space and tens of thousands of attendees expected, Watches and Wonders 2025 isn’t just a tribute to heritage — it’s a bold step toward the future of timekeeping.
